When you have made the decision to have the hair transplant surgery, most likely you will be considering your arrangements after the procedure. In the meantime, you have to have the surgical procedure and be careful that your hair transplant will work out.

Keeping yourself out of the sun after surgical procedure will help in the healing process. The skin surrounding the hair trasplant will be sun tender and less likely to heal if you expose it to the direct sunlight. If you’re careful to look after your scalp’s skin following a scalp hair transplant, you’ll be able to heal quite a bit quicker. You can start out by getting some kind of hat and it does not matter what kind of hat it is, as long as it is fairly loose-fitting so that it does not rub on your new hair transplant grafts. This is something you will not have to deal with for very long and after a couple of weeks, you will be able to replace the cap with some sunblock still, it will need to have at least 30 of SPF.

Having just the right amount of blood flow to the hair transplant sites will make a big difference in how fast they heal. For instance, you may want to use rests to elevate your head to ensure that your blood flow is steady during the night. Your usual pillows can be used, or you can buy wedge-shaped pillows made for this purpose. Even so, you should try to get plenty of respite after the hair transfer surgical process to avoid high blood flow. During the initial several weeks it is a bad idea to participate in any physically challenging events since the blood flow will be too heavy and bleeding might come from your transplant area.

It is important to clean your hair just as your physician recommends after hair transfer surgical procedure so you will be given a special shampoo to use and specific instructions on how and when to use it. You need to clean gently and thoroughly, because you may be rinsing your hair several times a day, so be certain not to harm the hair transplant by scratching or rubbing.

A week after your surgical procedure, it is procedure for the doctor to ask you to come in for a check up of the transfers. Make sure you arrive for that appointment on schedule because this is the time to ask anything you may be curious about caring for your hair. Ask your doctor when you will be ready to use a comb on your new hair because you might be surprised at how soon you can use one. The physician should then agenda future check-ups, something you should attend. At first it may seem as if you have to be very careful with your hair - and you do but it does not make sense to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars having your hair transfer surgical process and then not follow through with good care. But in a short time you will handle your new hair the same way you handled the hair that used to grow there.
